About Experience Magazine™

Building our Experiential Learning Community

As we are a year into the newly launched Experience, P+T+P, we have reflected on successes and failures and have identified a range of opportunities for the platform to more meaningfully resonate with the EL community. It’s time to be more “US” and truly grow into ourselves.

Experience, P+T+P functions as an online platform and there are opportunities to make changes to ensure this is a welcoming community, with frequently-refreshed, compelling content. Breaking down walls between authors and readers and forging a singular community, which exists to connect and inspire. Members of the community visit and feel inspired by accessible content — compelled to comment, motivated to connect, and eager to showcase what’s happening in their own corners of the EL world.

Reimagined Editorial Board Structure

As we seek to create a more accessible community, we believe that creating a flatter hierarchy, with the opportunity for more community members to take leadership roles will encourage growth.

Increased Leveraging of Social Media Platforms

Contributors’ bios and links to social media will be added as a mechanism for building connections and community. With increased membership on our Editorial Board, more leaders are motivated to encourage their own connections and followers to join the community, as contributors or visitors.

Commitment to Accessible Content and Compelling Stories

We appreciate students, educators, practitioners, and employers with meaningful stories to tell. We strive to be a community that celebrates a range of real-world experiences from around the world. We will further strengthen our relationship with WACE (And International Journal of Work-Integrated Learning (IJWIL), by referring traditional academic articles to our sibling publication IJWIL.
